Meet Kurt Nishimura
Kurt Nishimura has been in the real estate industry for over 25 years and has worked as a real estate consultant for more than 15 years, specializing in the acquisition, development, and asset management of both commercial and residential real estate. He is a licensed REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker Realty. Previously, Nishimura served as Vice President of Acquisitions at The Pivotal Group, where he asset-managed high-profile properties including the St. Regis Los Angeles and the Westin Century Plaza. During his tenure, he also oversaw the repositioning of Red Mountain Spa, which was recognized as a Top Destination Spa by Condé Nast Traveler.
Nishimura is the Founder of the Greater Phoenix Chapter of the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) and served as Chapter President in 2014, 2015, and 2019. He also served on the AREAA National Board as National Commercial Chair in 2018 and 2019, and later as National President in 2023. AREAA is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing sustainable homeownership within the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community, with 45 chapters across North America and over 19,000 members. Following his national leadership role, Nishimura joined the Board of the Global Real Estate Alliance (formerly AREAA Global), where he facilitates global investment opportunities by leveraging AREAA’s extensive North American network. In recognition of his leadership and global impact, Nishimura received the 2024 Global REALTOR® of the Year Award from the Scottsdale Area Association of REALTORS® (SAAR). He was also recently elected to serve on the SAAR Board of Directors for 2026 and 2027, where he will focus on Housing Affordability, Commercial Real Estate, and serve as the Global Committee Liaison.
Nishimura is an active member of the CCIM Institute Arizona Chapter and is currently a candidate for the CCIM designation, with plans to sit for the national exam in 2026. He is also involved in several real estate investment groups and remains deeply engaged in AREAA initiatives. He earned his MBA with an emphasis in Real Estate Development from DePaul University and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Western Illinois University.
